Open the local settings on home Wi-Fi. Save each change on the device.
Add a name. Choose your fox.
In Dexcom, enter a short Child / display name and keep the GlycoFox lower-screen theme selected.
The name at the top is just a label—not a login.

You can change it without changing your Dexcom account. Preview the fox animations.
Set your local night hours.
In Display → Clock & night mode, choose your timezone and set From and To.
Your clock needs internet to synchronize, including after a restart.

The example schedule is optional; choose your own hours. If the displayed time is wrong, check the timezone before changing the schedule.
Turn on the sleeping fox.
Back in Dexcom, enable Sleeping fox at night and save.
Sleeping and dimming are separate settings.

The sleeping fox uses your Display hours even when dimming is off. The same decorative sleeping pose is used for every reading. Keep official CGM alerts enabled; the fox is not a medical alarm.
Choose how dim night should be.
In Display, enable scheduled dimming, choose Night brightness, and save. Use a value above zero to keep the fox visible.
0% means the screen is off.

Check the result on the physical display during your night hours. Night-mode help. For multiple devices, give each a unique Hostname in WiFi; changing it reboots the device.
OPTIONAL / WEATHER
Give your fox a little sky.
Sunny, cloudy, rain, snow, and night scenes. Weather is off by default.
- Open your device's local settings → Weather. Keep Open-Meteo selected.
- Choose the appropriate API access. Use Find location and select your city, or enter coordinates.
- Turn on Enable weather scenes → Save settings. Close settings and allow a few minutes.
The sky follows weather for your chosen location. On updated devices, the daytime sun moves with the displayed local time, not calculated sunrise or sunset. Short daytime naps leave brightness unchanged; nighttime sleep and dimming follow your own schedule. Try the weather preview ↗
Weather not showing, or need to turn it off?
Keep the GlycoFox theme selected. Weather waits for a working Share connection, enough memory, and the settings page to close. Refresh defaults to 20 minutes; old weather eventually clears if updates fail. To disable it, turn off Enable weather scenes and save. If the Weather tab is missing, contact support about a compatible update—do not flash an unidentified clock.
Location privacy and Open-Meteo access
Set this up on your device, not this website. Searching sends your city or ZIP to Open-Meteo; enabling weather sends your chosen coordinates, and the provider sees your public IP. It does not receive your Dexcom credentials or readings. The website preview makes no weather requests.
Open-Meteo's free API is for non-commercial use and evaluation. Commercial use requires customer API access and your key; a subscription is not included. Review Open-Meteo's current terms. Device weather uses Open-Meteo data under CC BY 4.0, simplified into decorative scenes.
GlycoFox is a secondary display for reference. It must not be used for treatment decisions or as a replacement for official CGM alerts. Illustrations are examples; labels may vary with firmware or phone version.
