LET’S CHECK THE SIMPLE THINGS

Dark doesn’t always mean broken.

Start here if your GlycoFox display goes black. A brightness setting, lost power or recovery mode can look the same from the outside.

01

Can you open settings?

On the same home Wi-Fi, open the device’s saved local address. Sign in with your device owner login.

If settings open, check both ordinary brightness and Night brightness. Set the active brightness above zero and save once. Check timezone and scheduled hours too.

0% means screen off. Night dimming can override ordinary brightness. Sleeping fox is a separate setting.

02

Check power. Restart once.

Only when no firmware update is running: unplug USB power once, wait about 10 seconds, reconnect securely and allow up to two minutes for startup.

If it is still dark, check with a known-good USB cable and a suitable USB power supply. Keep the case closed.

Avoid rapid, repeated power cycling. If it stays dark, continue to the Wi-Fi check instead of repeating restarts.

03

Look in your phone’s Wi-Fi list.

SmallTV-Recovery: the recovery service is running. Follow step 4 below; the screen can stay dark in this mode.

GlycoFox-Setup: join the device setup network and use http://192.168.4.1. Follow the setup steps.

Neither: check your router’s connected-device list for its current address, then try local settings on home Wi-Fi. If still unreachable, contact support.

A missing hotspot is not proof the device is bricked. “Smart weather clock” may mean factory firmware—ask your supplier before installing anything.

04

Already in recovery mode?

Join SmallTV-Recovery, stay connected without internet, and open http://192.168.4.1. Confirm the heading says SmallTV boot recovery.

Open Health JSON first if support needs diagnostics. Then choose Retry application once on that local page. This retries startup; it does not factory-reset settings or install firmware.

Return your phone to home Wi-Fi after the restart. If the display stays dark or recovery returns, stop and contact support.

Do not choose “Install firmware”. That needs a support-reviewed image for your exact hardware. Recovery availability and labels depend on installed firmware.

KNOW WHEN TO STOP

Still dark? We’ll take it from here.

Don’t open the case, factory-reset, or try random firmware. Note the last working step, error text and hotspot name. A persistent fault needs device-specific diagnosis; support can help determine whether repair or replacement is needed.

What is safe to share from Health JSON?

The recovery page’s Health JSON is a small technical report containing the device ID, flash and memory information, reset reason and crash details. It is not a glucose report. Share it privately only if support asks, and check that you are on the recovery page—not exporting settings. Never send passwords, configuration exports or glucose history.

You can copy the text or take a screenshot. There is no automatic upload or remote access from this website.

GlycoFox is a secondary display for reference. It must not be used for treatment decisions or as a replacement for official CGM alerts. Use your official CGM app or receiver for your usual monitoring while the display is unavailable.
